About volunteering and working here...
Volunteers are welcome at the farm, and accommodation is available to individuals or groups for a day or as long as a season. Please contact us if you are interested in spending time here.
Eastport Organics will also trade time for food. There are a number of people that have taken to spending time in the gardens weeding and whatnot in exchange for food, and that works fine as long as you know a weed from a crop plant!!
Over the past ten plus years the farm has hosted almost 1000 volunteers from all over the world. They were engaged in day-to-day operations, fence construction, kelp-hauling duty, horse training, greenhouse construction, greenhouse work which included seeding and transplanting and on and on. People from all walks of life and of all different ages came to stay, enjoy, work, travel and learn. We now have new friends from Spain, France, Germany, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Austria, Australia, Hawaii, Taiwan, Colombia, England, Ireland, Belgium, US, Ontario, Nova Scotia, BC, Manitoba and St. John's thanks to offering volunteer opportunities on the farm.
Once you are in Newfoundland you can get to us via the cross island bus service that makes a daily trip from Port aux Basques to St. John's. Here's the link to the DRL Coachlines Schedule.
